In 1996, The Laptop Company investigated what application software was available for automating its engineering service operation. As one of the major suppliers of mobile computers in the Wellington area, it is essential service and repair work is carried out to a high standard, and that customer expectations as to response times are consistently met or bettered.
A pilot installation of PRONTO was commenced in mid-1997, and as a result of its success, The Laptop Company committed to a 24 user PRONTO implementation in late 1997.
As well as processing all its service calls, The Laptop company uses PRONTO also for processing all its stock and accounting requirements.
